An employee-powered foundation of FSG

When life gets heavy, we carry it together.

The Share the Light Foundation provides confidential financial assistance to FSG employees and their families facing unexpected hardship.

Why we exist

Behind every badge number is a person.

And sometimes life doesn't wait for payday. A cancer diagnosis. A house fire. A sudden loss.

The Share the Light Foundation exists so that no member of the FSG family faces their hardest season alone. Funded by employees, for employees, it turns hundreds of small acts of generosity into real, timely help.

Who it helps: all FSG employees and their immediate family members, from their first day on the job. Every request handled confidentially.

How we help

Real help, right when it's needed.

Four kinds of assistance, one quiet promise: you won't carry it alone.

Emergency & Hardship

When a crisis lands — a house fire, a funeral, a month the paycheck can't stretch to cover — emergency grants go straight toward the bills that can't wait.

Mental Health & Counseling

Confidential help toward counseling and mental-health care, because not every hardship shows up as a bill on the kitchen table.

Adoption, Marriage & Family

Support for the big, good, expensive milestones — growing a family through adoption, getting married, welcoming a child into the world.

Community & Giving

Beyond grants, the Foundation rallies coworkers around each other — tribute gifts, team drives, and quiet ways to show up when a colleague is hurting.

Our founding story

Founded in honor of Allen Baker.

The Foundation began with one teammate. Allen Baker spent his FSG career quietly looking out for the people around him — the first to pass the hat when a coworker's family hit a hard season, the first to show up with a truck, a meal, a hand.

After Allen passed, the people he'd carried decided to carry his spirit forward. What began as coworkers passing envelopes became the Share the Light Foundation — a permanent fund, so the kind of help Allen gave by instinct would always be there for the FSG family.

For employees & families

Asking for help is one of the strongest things you can do.

We've made the path as calm, private, and simple as we possibly can.

  1. Apply confidentially

A short, private application — a few questions, no essays, no proving yourself.

  2. An independent committee reviews

A small volunteer committee reads your request confidentially, usually within 5 business days.

  3. Grants are paid quickly and directly

Approved grants go straight toward bills — rent, medical costs, repairs, travel. It's a grant, never a loan.

Not sure if your situation qualifies? Reach out anyway — the conversation is confidential too.

Maria's story

“After Dan's accident, I didn't know how we'd cover that month — let alone the ones after. The Foundation reached out to us. Within a week the mortgage was handled and I could just be at the hospital, being his wife. Nobody made us feel small for needing help.”
