Challenge

CEC International desired to perform a series of energy saving retrofits to their Bo Robinson facility in Trenton, New Jersey. They turned to FSG for our expertise in lighting upgrades, energy-efficient designs, and auditing capabilities.

Solution

Bo Robinson is a correctional facility with a capacity of some 900 individuals. FSG performed an energy audit that led to a design to upgrade both the lighting and HVAC systems at the facility. Over 1,070 interior and exterior fixtures were upgraded to the latest technologies, including high efficiency T8 electronic lighting and exterior induction lighting. Over 107 tons of HVAC units were also replaced as part of the scope, along with refrigeration controls. Annual savings from these measures added up to more than $92,000 per year.
