Chanel USA desired to retrofit their manufacturing and distribution center in Piscataway, New Jersey, to improve lighting quality and reduce overall energy expenditures.
Challenge
Workplace lighting is a basic, yet crucial element in all industries and settings. It is especially critical, though, in manufacturing areas, where quality lighting can ensure a safe, productive workplace. Chanel USA desired to retrofit their manufacturing and distribution center in Piscataway, New Jersey, to improve lighting quality and reduce overall energy expenditures.Solution
FSG Electric implemented a complete lighting retrofit at the manufacturing facility. The project included upgrading old, low quality 600W High Pressure Sodium fixtures, mounted at heights of up to 30 feet, and replacing them with new, 6-lamp T5 fluorescent fixtures. All 400W HPS fixtures were replaced with 4-lamp T5 fluorescents. In both settings, occupancy sensors were also installed, to increase energy savings by reducing lighting in unutilized workspaces. Low-bay fixtures in the facility?s ?Ready-to-Wear? area were retrofitted with 4-lamp T8 fluorescent fixtures, along with occupancy sensors. Finally, older 8-foot fluorescent lamps were upgraded to 2-lamp T8s with electronic ballasts.FSG projects consistently deliver excellence for our customers, for our employees, and for the communities we serve.
