FSG Provides Energy Savings and Refreshed Visual Appeal for Albuquerque Shopping Mall

Challenge

Cottonwood Mall in Albuquerque, New Mexico has been the perfect place to shop since 1996, with over 135 stores to choose from. The property owner, Washington Prime, wanted to upgrade the parking lot lighting to provide additional safety and appeal for customers, and to take advantage of the OPEX savings provided by LED lighting. In need of a reliable lighting and electrical contractor with an impeccable service record, Washington Prime turned to FSG's Albuquerque branch.

Solution

FSG met with the property owner to discuss options for the lighting upgrade. With project specifications in place, FSG crews promptly arrived on site to begin updating Cottonwood Mall's parking lot lighting.

Throughout the project, FSG crews replaced 143 existing fixtures with bright, efficient LED fixtures. All work was completed without interruption to Cottonwood Mall's normal operations.

Result

Upon completion of the lighting retrofit project, Washington Prime immediately began to realize energy savings that would lower their utility bill by $57,000, and result in an annual electricity usage reduction of 552,000 kWh. Most importantly, however, the updated mall parking lot lighting was great for business, with high light levels and complete coverage inviting customers to safely visit the mall at night.

For Washington Prime, the project was an instant success that continues to pay dividends. For FSG Albuquerque, the project was another opportunity to provide lasting value to our customers.
