FSG Delivers Seamless Emergency Backup Power Generation for Dallas-Area Data Center
Challenge
Data centers require a backup power system that is integrated directly into the power infrastructure to ensure that critical systems stay online even if the lights go out. This fact was of primary importance to CyrusOne during a Phase 1 facility expansion and upgrade project at their Carrollton, Texas location.General contractor Carlson turned to FSG's Dallas branch to complete the sensitive and high-priority, $3,800,000.00 electrical work scope for CyrusOne's expansion project. A key component of the project for FSG involved the installation of four (4) 2250 kW emergency generator sets.
Solution
Prior to the installation of the new emergency generators, FSG supervised the creation of the pad sites to the required specifications, with an underground conduit fed through the pads to align properly with the new generators. With the pads complete, FSG supervised the placement of the gensets onto the pads and began the process of installing all feed lines and connections between the generators, the parallel switchgear, and the associated load banks.Result
FSG executed the work scope flawlessly, providing for the installation of the four new emergency power generators, along with all associated connections, testing, extensive commissioning, and final system hand-off to the customer.More Information
