FSG Upgraded 1,500 fixtures in three buildings
Challenge
East Coast Warehouse and Distribution Corp. has over 38 million square feet of distribution centers nationwide. East Coast occupies 3 buildings in Elizabeth covering 1.8 million square feet of both refrigerated and ambient space. This original retrofit covered a 1 for one replacement of nearly 1,500 HPS Holophane Prismalume fixtures. FSG has a long standing relationship with the customer, and provided the original HPS system.Solution
FSG initially installed 6LF32T8 fluorescent high bays, completing the project in 3 months. In aisles a special narrow beam reflector was utilized. All fixtures are totally enclosed since food is stored in these buildings. Light levels were also important, since a portion of the space is dedicated to US Customs inspections. Fixtures in aisles and bulk storage areas utilizes occupancy sensors. Several years later FSG returned and converted the existing fixtures to LED tubes. These tubes utilize the same fixtures and sensors, and cut energy costs another 70%. By using quality solutions that are future upgradeable, FSG allows our customers to make the most of their investment.
