Case Study
FSG Installs Emergency Power Generator for Grand Prairie Manufacturing Facility

Challenge

Before opening a new manufacturing facility in Grand Prairie, Texas, K&N filters needed a significant amount of tenant improvement work completed at its chosen warehouse location. To complete the $5,400,000.00 electrical work scope for the project, K&N selected FSG's Dallas branch. A critical part of the overall project involved the installation of a 125 kW emergency generator set to provide instant backup power for the facility.

Solution

Prior to the installation of the new emergency generator, FSG supervised the creation of the genset's pad site to the required specifications, with an underground conduit fed through the pad to align properly with the new generator. With the site complete, FSG supervised the placement of the generator onto the pad and began the process of installing all feed lines and connections between the generator, the switchgear, and the associated load bank.

Result

FSG executed the work scope flawlessly, providing for the installation of the emergency power generator, along with all associated connections to load banks, and emergency switchgear. Final testing and commissioning were performed on the new generator before the system was officially handed off to the customer.

FSG projects consistently deliver excellence for our  customers, for our employees, and for the communities we serve.
