The customer wanted to take advantage of the energy savings they would receive by replacing their existing lighting measures.

Challenge

High energy bills were the primary concern when FSG approached Farmers to speak with them about participating in the Georgia Power Small Commercial Direct Install Program. Outdated lighting, paired with the long hours of usage that comes from retail environments was the leading factor that drove the owners of Farmers to participate in the program.

Solution

FSG was able to provide an immediate on site survey of the existing lighting and identify replacement lighting measures that provided similar or better lighting for the retail and warehouse spaces. The sales floor lighting, which makes up over 50% of the total project, will yield a total KWH savings of 44,460. The total cost of the project was $32,945.00 The Utility Incentive (up to 70%) was $19,530.19 The Customer Share was $13,414.81 As a result of the energy savings that FSG was able to provide because of the Georgia Power Small Commercial Direct Install Program, Farmers was able to reduce their energy usage and save on their electric bills. The customer will see a return on their investment in less than 1.5 years.
