Fort Bragg Fayetteville, North Carolina
FSG Audits 12MM Square Feet in 12 Weeks
ChallengeFort Bragg North Carolina is a military installation of the United States Army in North Carolina. By population, it is the largest military installation in the world with more than 50,000 active duty personnel. Long a leader in a variety of Army programs, Fort Bragg has become a test bed of sorts for renewable energy sources and energy-efficient improvements. It has been over 10 years since the existing lighting systems had been updated to the then state of the art in fluorescent technologies by Honeywell under a 1997 ESPC IDIQ. Ameresco is currently engaged at the site and turned to FSG to provide a complete lighting solution for both interior and exterior spaces.
SolutionThe project scope included over 300 buildings covering over 12 million square feet. Lighting in interior buildings included offices, dormitories, warehouses and storage buildings, and other commercial spaces. The exterior site and area lighting was also part of the scope. Many buildings and areas were high security and required careful coordination. The lighting design had to encompass BAA, TAA and UFC requirements.
ResultWIth an aggressive 12 week timeline, the FSG Sales Engineering Team completed on-site auditing and preparation of the final specifications and deliverable ahead of schedule. FSG's is well versed in the requirements for federal facility lighting upgrades, and has the capability for in house lighting design using AGI 32.
