As the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey continues to upgrade its facilities to be more efficient, FSG was tapped to help implement one of the key projects at Newark Airport.
Challenge
For the PANYNJ, effcient and effective operation of the facilities in its care is always a top priority. When it came time to upgrade more than 8,800 tons of chillers at Newark Airport, The PANYNJ needed a contractor partner that could deliver.Solution
FSG was selected to install and bring on-line the new, more efficient chillers for the airport's massive HVAC system. Working with a mechanical partner, FSG integrated the project into other energy efficiency projects at Newark Airport so that the client could minimize the number of contractors on sight. Other projects included lighting upgrades in the terminals, train stations, parking garages, and parking lots.Result
The work performed at Newark Airport has been so well received that other projects in the PANYNJ's system has been awarded to FSG. Other projects include lighting upgrades at the PA bus terminal, retrofits in and on the the PA's tunnels and bridges, and work in the PA's train shops and rail yards.
