Case Study
FSG installed four 1,500hp Variable Frequency Drives to supply power to the pipeline's Raw Water Pumps.

Challenge

Zebra mussels are an invasive species of bivalve that have begun to infest lakes in Texas. They harm native ecologies, and can also pose a threat to area water supplies. In response to this threat, as well as drought conditions, the North Texas Municipal Water District decided to pipe water from Lake Texoma to their Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Wylie, Texas. Facility Solutions Group participated in this project as an electrical construction contractor.

Solution

FSG installed four 1,500hp Variable Frequency Drives to supply power to the pipeline's Raw Water Pumps. For backup purposes, two 4,160V switchgear lineups were also installed. At the WTP in Wylie, five new electrical buildings were constructed for water blending. FSG installed three emergency generators, as well as new 25kV distribution lines with concrete poles. Finally, a new fiber optic network, SCADA system, and flow meters were installed for the automated flow pacing of treatment chemicals.

FSG projects consistently deliver excellence for our  customers, for our employees, and for the communities we serve.

We see each project as an opportunity to embrace our mission and provide superior value through quality products, service, and support.
