Lighting upgrade of Parking Garages, lots and adjacent structures.
ChallengeStewart International Airport, officially New York Stewart International Airport is a public/military airport in Orange County, New York, United States. Developed in the 1930s as a military base to allow cadets at the nearby United States Military Academy at West Point to learn aviation, it has grown into the major passenger airport for the mid-Hudson region. FSG upgraded lighting in several spaces, including maintenance areas, offices and on the exterior of the building.
SolutionT12 Fluorescent fixtures in offices, shops and back of house were upgraded to new T8 lamps, electronic ballasts and in some cases reflectors. High bay HID fixtures in maintenance bays were upgraded to new fluorescent high bays with sensors. Exterior HID flood and wallpack fixtures were upgraded to new LED fixtures.
ResultThe new lighting system reduced energy consumption while improving overall lighting at the site. Lamp life on exterior fixtures increased 400%, greatly reducing maintenance costs.
