Pyramid Building San Antonio, Texas

Case Study
When the managment of the Pyramid Building wanted to upgrade their exterior architectural lighting, they turned to FSG to bring a little color to the project!

Challenge

The Pyramid Building stands in San Antonio as one of the most recognizable office buildings in the city. With it's iconic design and prominent location, the Pyramid Building has greeted motorists on the busy Interstate 410 for more than 36 years. The metal halide lighting, installed to show off the building at night, had become extremely inefficient, and light depreciation and outages took away from the building's beauty. These fixtures needed to be replaced with LED, but the customer wanted to be able to do more to highlight the building's unique features-- they wanted the building to dance!

Solution

FSG brought a turn key lighting retrofit project to the customer that not only met the customer's energy consumption requirements, but also completely changed the look of the building at night. Using Philips Color Kinetics fixtures and programming, FSG was able to utilize RGB LED light to transform the shapes and figures of the building into a true work of art.

Result

In the end, the customer was pleased with the energy savings results, but more pleased with the increased property value and more pleasing effect the new lighting brought the iconic property.
