Rice University – Brockman Hall for Physics Houston, Texas

Case Study
FSG provided complete electrical construction services.

Challenge

Rice University needed to build a new Physics facility on-campus. They chose Gilbane Construction to create the brand new 110,000 square-foot facility, and the General Contractor knew it needed to partner with an electrical construction company with the size and experience needed to work with sophisticated systems. One of the project requirements was to isolate the laboratories from noise, vibration, and fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

FSG hit the ground running with a solid project management team and the logistical depth and breadth required to deliver the complex project on time for the owner.

The Brockman Hall Physics facility is now home to dozens of experimental, theoretical, and applied physicists from Rice's departments of Physics and Astronomy and Electrical and Computer Engineering, and will support research in atomic, molecular and optical physics; biophysics; condensed matter physics; nanoengineering and photonics.

Solution

With an understanding that a General Contractor’s most important selling points are “team and timeline”, FSG delivered on both counts for Gilbane. Utilizing a team of local electricians led by experienced project management, FSG was able to complete the job on time and to the standards required by the GC and the project owner.

FSG projects consistently deliver excellence for our  customers, for our employees, and for the communities we serve.

We see each project as an opportunity to embrace our mission and provide superior value through quality products, service, and support.
