Village of Corrales Senior Center Corrales, New Mexico
ChallengeVillage of Corrales is a small community in Sandoval County, New Mexico, located along the Rio Grande River. Local residents had voiced concern about the look and feel of the community's Senior Center facility, with legacy lighting often in need of repair, and with inadequate lighting at night for the parking lot and sidewalks. When the Village of Corrales voted to update the lighting at their Senior Center, they reached out to FSG's Albuquerque branch to upgrade the interior and exterior lighting.
SolutionFSG met with representatives of Corrales to discuss the project. Once the project specifications were clearly outlined, FSG crews began work on updating the lighting at the Senior Center.
For the interior lighting, FSG replaced the legacy lighting currently installed with high-efficiency 2x4 lay-in, wraparound fixtures. Outside, FSG installed new wall pack lighting on exterior walls and updated the parking lot lighting with bright new LED fixtures.
ResultWhen the project was complete, residents of the Village of Corrales were thrilled with the lighting at their Senior Center. The new lighting lowered the center's utility bill by $3,500 a year and resulted in an annual energy savings of 25,500 kWh. Most importantly, the lighting upgrade work kept light levels high to create a safer environment for members of the community.
