FSG Completes Multi-Year, District-Wide Recabling Project for Local School District

Challenge

For Southside ISD in San Antonio, keeping their district facilities updated with the latest voice, data, and security networking infrastructure had always been a patchwork proposition. Following a 2017 bond election, where voters approved a budget for technology upgrades to the nine district facilities within Southside ISD, district administrators reached out to FSG's San Antonio branch and the network design team at Tero Technologies.

Solution

Over the next two years, FSG and Tero designers completed a district-wide project that involved recabling every campus and facility in the district. Working at night, FSG technicians delivered an excellent outcome for administrators, teachers, parents, and especially the students who go to school every day within Southside ISD. The project involved entirely new voice, data, and security network cabling that quickly placed Southside schools in the top tier of technological capability.

Result

Upon completion of the work, the project was immediately seen as a great success. FSG and Tero combined to deliver exactly what the school district needed, and exactly what area taxpayers approved in their bond election. The project was so successful, and the experience of working with FSG was so solid, that Southside and FSG have maintained an ongoing relationship since the project was completed. Currently, FSG is routinely called in to help the district as new issues arise.
