Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico
ChallengeThe Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa has a reputation as the go-to property for visitors to Albuquerque, New Mexico. For vacationers, business people, and entertainment industry types in the area shooting television and movie productions, the Hyatt Tamaya delivers a winning combination of luxury and seclusion amid a setting of stunning natural beauty, just outside of town in Santa Ana Pueblo.
With the property perennially in high demand, facility management understood that keeping the Hyatt Tamaya looking its best was critical to the company's mission. Additionally, troubleshooting the property's legacy 12V exterior lighting system was becoming a more predictable and expensive chore. In the end, hotel management wanted to explore other options with exterior lighting that might properly capture the charm of the Hyatt Tamaya property at night. To help them bring their exterior lighting vision to life, Hyatt Tamaya turned to FSG's Albuquerque branch.
SolutionFSG was a natural choice for Hyatt Tamaya, as the lighting and electrical contractor already had an eight-year history of successful lighting projects at the resort property. Prior to executing the exterior lighting project for Hyatt, FSG Albuquerque had completed a number of major lighting upgrades and retrofits for Hyatt Tamaya, including a parking lot lighting upgrade, an interior LED lighting retrofit, as well as guest room and back-of-house lighting upgrades.
Mark Jaramillo, the Account Manager with FSG Albuquerque, met with Hyatt management to discuss fixture options, then submitted an exterior lighting design that would complement the gorgeous natural environment at the property and create an entirely new experience for resort guests interested in exploring the property after sunset.
ResultFor this project, FSG's national lighting distribution business allowed the project to proceed smoothly with minimal supply chain delays. FSG Albuquerque's technicians performed all work during off-peak times to avoid any disruption to normal operations at the property. Over 500 exterior lighting fixtures were installed in all the public spaces, including pole lights, ground lights, and pathway lighting. The legacy 12V system was completely removed and replaced with a new 120V system sufficient to support the expansive exterior lighting design.
The project was rolled out in phases over the summer of 2022, and the results were amazing for guests and visitors to the Hyatt Tamaya Resort and Spa. Hyatt Hotels was thrilled with the project as well, and grateful to have a solid, ongoing working relationship with FSG Albuquerque.
