Challenge

Del Monte Produce, a leading name in the food industry, sought to enhance the lighting systems at their warehouse facility located in Camden, New Jersey. With a focus on energy efficiency and operational cost reduction, Del Monte engaged Facility Solutions Group (FSG) as the lighting and electrical contractor for the project. The contract amounted to $109,000.00, aiming to upgrade a total of 350 fixtures across the warehouse and office spaces.

Solution

The challenge presented to FSG was to modernize the lighting infrastructure of Del Monte's warehouse and office spaces while maximizing energy savings. FSG addressed this challenge by upgrading 265 400W metal halide fixtures in the warehouse, along with 78 fixtures in the attached office area. Additionally, 480W vaportight TSHO fixtures designed for wash-down service were replaced. In the office spaces, T12 recessed fixtures were updated with new reflectors, electronic ballasts, and T8 lamps. These upgrades not only improved illumination but also optimized energy consumption.

Result

Through FSG's comprehensive lighting upgrade solutions, Del Monte Produce achieved significant annual energy savings of over $32,000. Furthermore, the project demonstrated a rapid payback period of just over one year, highlighting the financial benefits of investing in energy-efficient lighting solutions.
