Challenge

Cyrus One, an international data center provider, was on a tight deadline. They needed this six-month project completed in just four months. The client provided pre-assembled, bare-bones electrical rooms for FSG to work with, and the job involved installing full electrical systems within these rooms, and then installing each room into the larger facility.

Solution

FSG put our years of mission critical expertise and intensive pre-construction planning to work, identifying available opportunities to save time and structuring the work flow of the project before beginning work on site. One particular time saving measure involved consolidating wire pulls. FSG's streamlined process used pre-spooled, color coded wires to expedite wire pulls on site. FSG utilized previous data center experience to facilitate commissioning with the commissioning agent and bring the site live on schedule. FSG completed the data center on time as the condensed schedule required.

Result

Cyrus One was thrilled with the finished work, and especially grateful that FSG was able to complete all the required work in time to meet the project's accelerated schedule. This was FSG's third project for Cyrus One in the Austin area, and another of the many data center projects FSG has successfully completed for customers state-wide. For FSG, this project was another opportunity to trade on lessons learned over the years while completing other mission critical projects for clients across Texas. For Cyrus One, the project served to further support the growing relationship between the data center provider and FSG.
