Denver Health Medical Center Denver, Colorado
ChallengeAt Denver Health Medical Center, administrators were looking to upgrade legacy fluorescent lighting in patient rooms within the Pavilion C Obstetrics and Pediatrics building. What should have been a straightforward LED retrofit for 60 patient rooms became more complex when 3rd party vendor equipment challenges threatened to limit on/off and light dimming capabilities within the rooms. Hoping for a creative workaround, Denver Health turned to FSG Denver.
SolutionWhile replacing the old 2 x 4 fluorescent ceiling fixtures with energy-efficient LED, FSG was asked to find a solution that would allow for proper functioning of overhead lighting, exam lighting, and patient reading lighting in each room. FSG Denver delivered a controls solution using readily available equipment to provide both on/off and dimming for a wall switch behind the patient's bed, another wall switch at the entrance to each room, and importantly, for full bedside patient control as well.
ResultWhen Denver Health asked FSG if we could create a solution to their unique lighting control problems, it was just the type of question we love. After more than 40 years in business, tackling almost every conceivable lighting retrofit challenge, FSG welcomes opportunities to demonstrate the value of our experience. With a fast and efficient solution that worked around the customer’s equipment challenges, FSG Denver came through for Denver Health and for every patient who can now enjoy room lighting exactly as they like it.
