ChallengeThe Freehold Regional High School District is a group of six high schools in western Monmouth County, New Jersey. FSG was awarded a contract to upgrade existing fluorescent and HID lighting in each of the schools to LED. This project included full LED retrofits of Howell High School and Freehold Borough High School.
SolutionThe work involved retrofitting almost 11,000 fixtures while working within the time constraints of the district?s summer schedule and that of other contractors performing work on the buildings. The retrofit itself included installing new LED tubes, LED lamps (A19, PAR, PL) LED high bays, LED recessed fixtures, as well as LED flood lights, wall packs, and pole-mounted fixtures. In addition, over 600 dual technology occupancy sensors were installed in classrooms across the district. Pat Lagravenis stated his satisfaction with FSG?s ability to work with the schools? schedules and expectations for cleanliness, as well as their level of professionalism and communication. The school staff has seen a ?big difference? in the lighting and has voiced their pleasure with the new LED solution.
