Guidepoint Headquarters New York City

Case Study
FSG Delivers Stellar Lighting Design and Installation for Premier Manhattan Office Building

Challenge

With an international clientele served from 14 office locations worldwide, Guidepoint (https://www.guidepoint.com/ ) knew its New York headquarters needed to reflect a modern, successful, and forward-thinking aesthetic. The digital networking company specializes in linking local customers with the expertise they need to meet whatever business challenges they face. For Guidepoint, their own personal challenge involved lighting design for their new showcase office space in Manhattan.

Guidepoint’s new headquarters was set to be located within the entire 2nd floor of 675 Avenue of the Americas in New York City, just one block away from the historic Flatiron Building. The building filled an entire city block and featured a complete renovation to all four exterior faces that fully accentuated the details of the building’s classic beaux-arts architecture. With the first impression of their new headquarters firmly established, Guidepoint set out to partner with first-class interior designers and lighting designers to complete the package. The company engaged the services of Neal Beckstedt Studio https://nbeckstedtstudio.com/ for the interior design, and for just the right lighting design they turned to FSG.

Solution

Guidepoint’s new office space featured a floor area of 50,000 square feet with an atrium located in the center of the building. Working with Neal Beckstedt Studio, FSG developed a lighting design with industrial references that took full advantage of the 14-foot ceilings and striking original architectural elements of the building. The building featured 10-foot windows, exposed brick walls, and original ornate columns, and FSG’s lighting design was created to embrace these features to full effect.

The project included open office areas, private offices, conference rooms, a dining area, private phone rooms, and a stepped multi-purpose room. In the common areas, FSG used linear lighting elements that juxtaposed with building elements to give the space a very industrial and modern feeling. FSG worked within a very aggressive budget by leveraging relationships with lighting manufacturers and specifying fixtures that would achieve the design intent while staying on budget, without sacrificing quality or performance. FSG’s New York distribution team was engaged to supply the fixtures and managed the various logistical aspects of the project. Finally, FSG’s project management oversaw every detail of the installation to ensure the delivery of this successful and beautiful project for Guidepoint.
