HCA Heart & Vascular Hospital at Clear Lake Regional Center Webster, Texas

Challenge

The vision of HCA in 2007 was to provide a world-class facility of cardiovascular care in the very heart of the Clear Lake region. The six-level, 227,500 square feet facility offers patients unparalleled care, in a convenient location, ranging from heart surgery to coronary interventions. There are 59-patient rooms, 15-Intensive Care patient units, 8-Cardiovascular ICU rooms, 3-Cardiovascular operating rooms, 4-Cardiac Cath labs, Nuclear medicine, and a Central Plant encompassing this facility. This is the only heart facility south of the Texas Medical Center. One of the major challenges of this project was performing renovations to the existing Nuclear Medicine unit. The staff had to be relocated to perform their day-to-day operations while construction improvements were being performed and maintain the necessary connectivity to existing services.
