Challenge

IBC Bank, located in downtown Austin was concerned with their customer's and employee's safety due to inadequate lighting. Facility Solutions Group recommended that IBC Bank replace their old can lighting with new LED flat panel fixtures. However, this did not come without challenges. 2ft. by 2ft. square holes needed to be cut into a concrete overhand where the can lighting previously resided.

Solution

Cutting the square holes required close coordination between FSG Construction Services and FSG Electric in order to accomplish a clean installation. IBC's downtown location proved to provide additional challenges and it was imperative that the FSG team executed this project quickly and seamlessly.

Result

FSG Electric's prompt and accurate implementation resulted in IBC Bank providing their patrons with adequate lighting in their parking lots. FSG was able to increase light levels from 10 foot-candles to over 30. This resulted in increased and more uniform lighting, while also reducing IBC's energy load by 1.6kWh.
