Upgrading to LED Lighting in Housing, Parks, and Roadways
ChallengeThe Hunt Companies are the largest military housing owner in the country, with approximately 52,000 existing homes on 49 military installations on Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Army installations throughout the country. Langley Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base located adjacent to Hampton and Newport News, Virginia. It was one of thirty-two Air Service training camps established after the entry of the United States into World War I in April 1917.
SolutionHunt turned to FSG to upgrade the lighting in 1,430 on and off base homes to LED. FSG relamped all interior and exterior fixtures with new long life energy saving LED lamps. Public buildings, parks and street lights within the housing complex were also upgraded to either LED lamps or new LED fixtures. New LED lighting cut both energy and maintenance costs.
ResultThe Military Housing Privatization Initiative program, which began in 1996 is a public-private partnership leveraging outside investments to improve federally owned facilities. FSG provided financing for this project through our power of Light program. The Power of Light, by Facility Solutions Group (FSG), is a unique program that allows customers to reap the benefits of energy efficient technology, better lighting, and lower utility bills with financing solutions that remove out-of-pocket investment or risk.
FSG projects consistently deliver excellence for our customers, for our employees, and for the communities we serve.
We see each project as an opportunity to embrace our mission and provide superior value through quality products, service, and support.
