Challenge

The Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas, is one of the city's most iconic tourist attractions. Facility Solution Group's General Contracting team was tasked with repairing the atrium at the Shops at Rivercenter, a multi-story indoor mall located on the Riverwalk. Due to the mall's busy schedule and large shopping crowds, along with other practical considerations, FSG was faced with a project that demanded our unique problem-solving capabilities.

Solution

Water-damaged ceiling tiles and drywall were replaced, and the atrium area was repainted. Inoperative downlights and atrium lighting were also replaced. Due to the high ceilings of the workspace, a typical man lift could not be utilized. Instead, FSG made use of a lift that could operate via either tracks or wheels, which allowed the lift to be maneuvered up and down stairs. Additionally, the lift could pass through standard-size double doorways, and reach a maximum height of 60 feet. Temporary lights were used throughout the project, all of which was performed after hours in order to minimize interruption of business.
